Artists  Janet  &  Walter  Have  been featured in many North East Metal works,Art and Architectural publications, she bridges the gap between idea and application with expert technique and solid design.

The ''Oracle'' chair proves interaction, curiosity and the quest for knowledge. This is not a throne or chair of power, it represents all our personal and deeper conflicts that need light and exposure. This is a solid and strong interactive statement that will provoke lively debate and good humor at the show in December.

Janet  & Walter's choice of the chair as symbol for communication, dialogue and truth.
The ''Oracle'' is a most timely concept that is sure to stimulate
attention and intellect,  Janet  and  Walter should also be included with a growing number of USA sculptures who weld together their ideas with great artistry and talent for Public and Private commissions.

BIOGRAPHY
B.F.D. Firehouse Studios originated In the 1980’s in a restored firehouse in Brooklyn. Husband and wife design team of Walter Kenul and Janet Rutkowski laid the foundation for their business there. The completion of their upstate studio in Barryville, Sullivan County has been the driving force behind a new series of furniture being presented in May 2007.Their work has been shown throughout the NYC area and they have been in many newspaper and magazine articles. The “Oracle” chair was featured in the catalogue of the
International Contemporary Furniture Fair at the Jacob Javitz
Center in NYC. Their motorcycle inspired line of furniture was shown in the windows of Saks Fifth Avenue. Their home was on the cover of “Great Adaptations”, a book about unusual renovations around the world. They have been listed twice in H+G’s blackbook of best artisans.

Artist Statement
“Great art, whether it be visual, sculptural, functional or audio, has a presence, a spirit which is truly felt. We seek to incorporate that presence, that spirit into every piece we create.Art is an unfounded religion whose inspiration comes from a divine source. That power is within each of us, and we should use it in everything we do, in all walks of life. It is the power of transformation. Transformation of the mundane into the divine.”
