BIOGRAPHY
Amanda Petrash was born and raised in the beautiful Pacific
Northwest. Growing up amidst flower and dairy farms, and the
San Juan Islands
of Washington State, her parents encouraged her creativity by giving her
a camera one year for Christmas. By looking
through the lens, she quickly learned to appreciate things that the Bountiful Mother Earth provided. After attending
Western Washington
University, her curiosity about other cultures led her to leave home at the age of 20 years old to explore the world.
Her travels amongst the continentals have been her greatest teacher of all. In an effort to share her experiences with
her family and friends, she photographed everything as a means to bring her travels home with her. Her work is now
represented in both private and public collections throughout the world. Amanda now resides in Rancho Santa Fe,
California, and Miami Florida.

When Amanda chooses to spotlight a child's smile or a box of fruit as much as some historic icon it is because
they are truly as important. Photography is an aesthetic visual journalism that speaks for the
absences as much as for the obvious, like a quick sketch in a pad or notes for a song, the image caught is a thought
rendered to others as well.
